Client Showcase: ConikiTV - Free Workout, Motivation & Nutrition Videos

Well it's almost done, but boy have we come a long way.

ConikiTV have one goal in mind. To show people how to get motivated and exercise.

We work very closely with our clients, which is why the interface for the user is quite friendly, and self explanatory.

The best part about this site, is the content sharing. The client uploads videos to youtube, and then has access to these within our CMS in order to create their related post content. But the fun doesn't stop there.

Once the video has been "BLOGGED" it uploads a tweet to their twitter user, posts the feed on tumblr and adds a facebook post on their wall. Utilising social networking, to get the message across.

Because of this, in just a few short weeks we have seen thousands of visitors to their website.

Websites such as this have even more potential for content sharing due to the constant updates, third party interactions (comments) and variety of places where the content can be posted.

Tips for Do It Yourself SEO

I have recently had a few of my clients come up to me and ask, "HOW DO I GET A BETTER SEARCH ENGINE RANKING?" Unfortunately, there's no 1 answer. It's a large combination of things put together to make your page work.

In plain English, think of a supermarket. An abundance of rows of shelves with various products on them. If you were looking for milk, you would look in the Dairy section, and there you would find all different varieties of the same thing ... MILK. Now if there were an abundance of signage pointing to milk, well that would make it a lot easier to find. But what if we don't want milk? The consumer then ignores all the signs.

In order for your site to rank highly, you need to employ some of these tactics.

If you have a content management system, then you can get started on this right away.

  • Clean up your text - Make sure that you mention your key words that you suspect people would search for to find your business... It is most probable that you are not using them to your advantage in your text.
  • Get yourself listed - Create as many free business listings as possible on various websites. Local directories are the best tools for this. There's a world of business directories apart from Google Local Business Centre.
  • Create pages - It is important to think like a consumer, so create as many content pages as you can, with relevant information about your business or website.
  • Update regularly - A well maintained site shows more promise amongst search results.
  • Further consultation - There are a myriad of other techniques that are used, which cannot be listed here in detail. So consult your web designer before hiring an SEO expert. There are a lot of small things that can be done in the NOW to improve your page's prestige.

After working with over 50 clients and monitoring results over the last 3 months, I found that the results of my tampering and tweaking didn't start showing up until about a month and a half later. The process is exponential. Some of this involved re-designing a few sites that were made over 5 years ago ... (good to see client loyalty still applies) but overall it was a fun experience.

In upcoming blogs, I will display some of my attempts at digital video creation. Simple, and to the point . . .

Cheers,
Matenia :)
